Life doesn’t get easier or more forgiving, we get stronger and become more resilient.

At Resilience Counseling & Wellness, we help our clients overcome and recover from their experiences of trauma and chronic stress so they can show up more present and authentic in their life.

We totally get it.  On most days you feel like you’re trudging through your life feeling completely depleted, filled with anxiety, or just generally unfulfilled, but you’re not sure why.  It seems like you’re wading through quicksand and gradually sinking into some type of weird depression or complacency, but to others it looks like you are successful and “happy”.

Keeping up this façade all the time is exhausting, and now that you think about it, you feel like you’ve been chasing someone else’s dream or you’ve somehow managed to fall into a career or marriage that isn’t serving you.  According to society and culture, you should be thriving, grateful, and looking forward to the rest of your life.  Instead, you’re feeling empty or utterly confused about what you’re feeling or experiencing and not sure how to sort through the never-ending feelings of overwhelm or fear.  You may even secretly dread waking up everyday, feeling weighed down and heavy with obligations and meeting other people’s needs or expectations.

Feeling disconnected from yourself and others, you’re also feeling moody and frustrated being in people-pleasing mode most of the time and acting like everything is fine.  You’re tired of pretending or trying to hold it together all the time, but you feel lost and don’t know how to change things, where to start, or what to do.

Working with one of our therapists at Resilience Counseling & Wellness will enable you to connect with yourself at a deeper level and find those parts of yourself that have been squashed down, undeveloped, or left behind.

Trauma and chronic stress can make us vulnerable to physical and emotional strife, but can also strip us of our true identity by leading us away from ourselves and towards unhelpful strategies and ways of coping.  Even if we know it’s not super helpful, things that are distracting, numbing, or just keep us in an avoidant and busyness spiral become commonplace when we have a history of trauma and/or chronic stress that has gone unattended to.

Our therapists will help you learn to connect with yourself so you can start to shift some of the unhelpful patterns and behaviors that may have helped you survive your life, but not thrive.  We will guide you through re-wiring some of these deeply conditioned behavioral patterns so you can break through the barriers that have been holding you back.  Even processing only some of the traumatic stress you’ve experienced in your life can create meaningful change and increase your resiliency and quality of life.

So reach out to us today so you can finally start moving towards living the life you deserve, instead of moving away from it!
