Find Strength in Your Story

Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re carrying the weight of past experiences, societal expectations, or emotional struggles that seem impossible to untangle. If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, you’re not alone. Healing is possible! Therapy can be a powerful tool to help you reclaim your sense of self, build resilience, and create an authentic and fulfilling life.

My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and a deep belief in your ability to heal. Together, we’ll work to uncover the patterns that no longer serve you, explore new ways of thinking and being, and create lasting change.

Personalized Pathways to Growth

I believe in an integrative approach to therapy, using evidence-based and somatic practices tailored to each individual’s needs. My modalities include:

  • Somatic Experiencing (SE) – A body-centered approach to healing trauma by fostering safety and regulation.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Equipping clients with practical tools to reframe thought patterns.
  • Mindfulness-Based Techniques – Encouraging presence and awareness to manage emotional distress.
  • Strength-Based Therapy – Helping clients recognize their inherent resilience and capacity for growth.
  • Trauma-Informed Care – Ensuring a safe, empowering therapeutic space.

What I can help with

I specialize in supporting individuals through a range of challenges, including:

  • Trauma & PTSD – Helping clients process difficult experiences and find paths to healing.
  • Anxiety & Depression – Providing tools to cultivate emotional resilience and balance.
  • Life Transitions – Guiding individuals through major changes with clarity and confidence.
  • Grief & Loss – Holding space for clients as they move through grief and find hope.
  • Men’s Issues & Toxic Masculinity – Supporting men in unpacking societal expectations, emotional suppression, and redefining strength on their own terms.
  • Identity & Self-Exploration – Helping clients deepen their understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

No matter what you’re facing, I’m here to help. Together, we’ll work to uncover what’s holding you back and find the tools and strategies to help you move forward.

My Philosophy on Healing

Healing is not a one-size-fits-all process, and no two journeys look the same. I believe that each person carries deep wisdom, resilience, and the ability to heal. Sometimes, they just need the right space to explore it. My goal is to create a collaborative and compassionate environment where clients feel safe enough to process their experiences, challenge limiting beliefs, and step into a more authentic version of themselves.

Whether you’re working through past trauma, navigating transitions, or confronting societal narratives that no longer serve you, therapy is a space where growth happens. Healing takes courage, but you don’t have to do it alone.

I am here to walk alongside you with empathy, expertise, and unwavering support—because no one should have to navigate trauma, transition, or self-discovery on their own.

More about Matt…

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, my journey into helping professions started with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. For five years, I worked in special education classrooms, supporting children in their learning and development. I earned my Master of Social Work from Tulane University in New Orleans, where I studied disaster resilience and collective trauma.

For the past three years, I’ve been a mental health therapist practicing in a small community health clinic, where I earned my licensure as a clinical social worker. Through this work, I deepened my practice in embodiment, resilience, and healing, eventually becoming trained as a Somatic Experiencing (SE) therapist.

My path has taken me to Washington, DC, where I lived and worked for five years before settling in Houston with my partner and our three dogs.
