Believe it or not, healing is possible!

There are times when life becomes overwhelming. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, weighed down by negative thoughts, or like things will never get better. I understand how isolating and exhausting that can feel because I’ve been there, too. After facing my own challenges and working to heal and grow from those experiences, I’ve come to realize just how powerful it can be to have someone walking alongside you through the hard times. Therapy provides that space—a space where you don’t have to carry it all on your own.

It’s okay to ask for help. In fact, it can be life-changing. When you feel like you’re navigating the storms of life alone, therapy can be the anchor you need to steady yourself. It offers a nonjudgmental, compassionate environment where you can process your thoughts, explore your emotions, and begin to rediscover a sense of hope and heal.

Lakisha Hayes, LPC Houston Therapist

You are unique, and so is your path

Every person is unique, which means no two healing journeys are the same. That’s why I take a personalized approach to therapy. Together, we’ll create a plan that fits your specific needs and goals. I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to ensure you receive care that truly works for you.

In our work together, I might use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you process and heal from traumatic memories, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. I also incorporate psychodynamic therapy to explore how your past experiences influence your present and to help you uncover patterns that may be holding you back.

Whether we use trauma-focused CBT, solution-focused therapy, or family systems therapy, the goal is the same: to empower you to make meaningful progress and move toward a life that feels fulfilling and authentic.

More about Lakisha…

I attended Houston Christian University and received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021. My passion for helping others started early in life. Growing up, I volunteered through my church, participating in both local and international service projects. These experiences were transformative—they opened my eyes to the immense challenges people face across the world and the incredible power of compassion and support.

After college, I became a teacher, working with inner-city children. Witnessing their struggles and resilience inspired me and ultimately reignited my lifelong calling to become a therapist. Supporting others on their journeys to healing and growth became my true purpose.

As a therapist, I’m committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate their path to healing. In my personal life, I maintain a healthy work-life balance by enjoying time with loved ones, exploring new brunch spots, cooking healthy recipes, and hosting potlucks. I also love game nights, escape rooms, traveling, Zumba classes, and the joy of shared laughter. I believe self-care is self-love, and finding fulfilling hobbies and meaningful connections is key to a successful, balanced life.
